HomeBlogTips For First Time Home Buyers

Am I Ready To Be A First Time Home Buyer?

Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a huge proponent of home ownership at the earliest age possible… every year that slips by is another 12 payments that could have chipped away at that mortgage that you & I both know most people plan on obtaining sooner or later. Starting early allows you to lock in a payment that will inevitably become cheaper over time while the property’s value typically inches upward along the way. While a hasty decision on part of first time home buyers can (and usually will) result in a loss in one way or another, you shouldn’t let fear of the unknown hold you back… but it is important to know when you’re ready.

It seems like I’m always running across young would-be buyers that are nervous and uncertain about what to expect during the home buying process. The unknown has caused a sort of paralysis, but it’s their gut instinct that pushes them in the right direction. Are you ready? Well, let’s see! I found this video series by Realtor.com and think it does a great job of outlining the steps of the home buying process in a humorous way while helping answer that haunting internal question – “Am I Ready?”
